The Karol hotel is named after and inspired by Karol Kelly Bullard, the wife of Fred Bullard. He is also the CEO of The Bullard Group, who developed the property.
Inside the Karol Hotel is a beautiful mural wall in her honor, filled with photos documenting her accomplishments over the years. Karol Kelly is widely respected in our area. Her story is interesting, where she went on to become a radio DJ, producer, and Florida’s first weather woman.
Fast forward to present day, where she’s actively involved in philanthropic efforts that support the arts, families and children in need.
The Karol Hotel is located on 2675 Ulmerton Road, Clearwater, FL 33762.
If you’re arriving to town through the St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport (PIE) the hotel is a quick 12 minute drive away and only 20 minutes distance from Tampa International Airport (TPA).
The beds are super comfortable. I love their duvet covers and how warm it keeps you while sleeping.
The bathroom is absolutely stunning with the floor to ceiling marble detail. The double headed shower is so relaxing and the hotel has an alarm clock, hair dryer, and USB outlets in the room.
I appreciate the little things. While relaxing in my room I discovered a robe and slippers waiting for me in the closet. Paired with wine and sweet treats on the table.
It’s such a nice touch and truly makes you feel “at home” while you’re “away”.
All of the furnishings for the rooms were hand-selected by Fred and Karol and you can see their personalities infused through the decor, even with the hotel key card design and the artwork in the room.
When you visit the rooftop you have to snap an Instagram picture at the “Don’t I know from you somewhere” sign. Its perfect for your feed and such a cool addition to the rooftop.
My sister and I couldn’t have pictured a more beautiful backdrop for our dinner at the Vantage rooftop.
You can view their menu and wine options here .
I ordered their Shrimp and Grits and loved every bite, it made my southern heart so happy!
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at The Karol Hotel and would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone looking visiting our beautiful city or just looking to take a weekend to staycation and relax.
I appreciate the hotel staff having hand sanitizer stations set up through out the hotel and a mandatory mask ordinance to ensure guest and staff safety.
The hotel is newly renovated and offers great amenities from meeting rooms to their state of the art gym.
